Grumpy Bird

Written and illustrated by Jeremy Tankard

Bird wakes up very grumpy and groggy. He is so grumpy that he cannot even be bothered to fly. What will his friends do to cheer him up? Anything they can!

Grumpy Bird is a good lesson book. It teaches readers to see past their friend’s grumpiness even if their friend resists cheering up. Bird, in the end, realizes that his friend’s efforts to cheer him up are fun, and forgets about being grumpy. Instead, he invites all his friends back to his nest for something to eat. Grumpy Bird is a book about sharing and forgiveness even when you least feel like it.
